Every Dog Has His Day

This is  my new music blog about the lost, forgotten, underrated or just downright great new wave, power pop (mostly) from all eras.

Here is the first album I want to share: Every Dog Had His Day,  the last great album from Mitch Easter's band Let's Active.   The name of the album inspired the name of this blog (obviously).  The album was released in 1988 on I.R.S. records.  This was Let's Active's 4th and last album.    Mitch Easter was best known for producing some of REM's early albums, but  for me the "jangle pop" (power pop/new wave)  music he made with Let's Active was some of the best stuff to come out of the 80's

There are at least 1/2 dozen songs on this record that should have been hits.  The first two tracks are particularly awesome.  Every Dog Has His Day might be the last great Power Pop song of the 80's.  Horizon is just indescribably awesome.   If you don't like any of this, you probably won't like anything else I post!
