The Killers : Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine

I'm not sure if this will force me to hand-in my new wave credentials, but I really love the song Jenny Was a Friend Of Mine from The Killer's debut album Hot Fuss.   It sounds like a combination of so many 80's bands and songs, it's hard to *not* like it.  I'm not sure how they did it, but any band that can mix various parts of Duran Duran (vocals),  Alphaville (major key synths)  U2 (punctuated bass lines) and Tommy Tutone (the name Jenny) and make a highly enjoyable song out of the mess deserves my respect.

I've never been a huge fan of The Killers, but I think that might change as I delve deeper into their catalog... I'm going to refer to them as a "New Wave Evolved" band, a play on modern retro style video games that are put into the category of "Retro Evolved"...
